Kajabi Course Lesson Comments ON or OFF?

kajabi course tech Jun 23, 2022

Decide whether you want to have your Kajabi course lesson comments ON or HIDDEN before you start creating your course wireframe. This sneaky setting is inside every lesson post so if you decide you want to hide the comments, you'll need to manually set this in every single lesson post.

🙌 It's more efficient to do it as you create your course wireframe and create each lesson post.

Now, how do you decide?

The ability for students/members to comment directly underneath a lesson video makes it super easy for them to reach you .... and I'm all about making it super easy for your students. 🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️

However, I'm also all about making it super easy for YOU. How can you streamline the communication with your students, so that you can efficiently respond and engage ... without it becoming an overwhelm. 😲😵😣

❓ Maybe you want to encourage comments and questions to be posted in your Facebook Group or Kajabi Community (for eg) - so others can also get the benefit of the response.

❓ Is your content sensitive and questions may be private - so it makes more sense for questions to be directed to you personally, so a form within the lesson sidebar to submit questions which land in your inbox, clearly labeled.

❓ Or maybe you don't want to allow comments or questions at all, because you're inviting them into the next level of engagement with you.

Questions are important. I always recommend offering some way for your students to reach you - maybe they have tech issues, maybe they can't navigate the program, maybe they need billing support. So, always make it clear they can reach you - either in the welcome post or from the navigation menu to a support page.

How about comments that aren't questions?? Good or bad, these can be invaluable. I often see students leaving love notes in lesson comments - sharing their success while they are in the moment. Screenshot and add to your sales page testimonials (don't forget to add this disclaimer to your purchase terms). Reach out to a student who leaves a constructive comment and use this as a way to possibly improve your content.

Tech Tip:
If you keep lesson comments ON, and decide to engage with your students right there in your course - make use of the 'Manage Comments' feature under 'All Products'. You can manage the comments from all your courses, and filter by Unread, Read, and Deleted.
